Growing in faith, Leading through service

Adaiah is a committed young man who faithfully and earnestly serves within his local church community. The brief interactions I have had with him in the last two years, he has demonstrated politeness and a willingness to connect and engage. I have observed him serving his local church in a variety of ways, and was publicly recognised for his commitment at a recent Pathfinder Camporee in front of 1200 of his peers.

Adaiah has been a great asset to our church, and it has been wonderful to see the contribution he has made, particularly through his involvement with our youth group. Adaiah has a genuine passion for sharing Jesus with his peers and creating opportunities for young people to feel welcomed, included, and connected. He has shown initiative in organising youth events for our church and has been intentional about inviting new young people to come along and be part of what is happening. I have been particularly encouraged by Adaiah’s willingness to take responsibility and turn his ideas into action. Organising events takes planning, communication, and commitment, especially when working around the many other activities happening within the life of the church. Adaiah has done a great job of working through these challenges and helping bring his events together successfully.

I have been serving as an ordained minister and regional mentor on the Tablelands and Western Plains region over the last 5 years for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. In that time, I have observed Adaiah develop and grow in his understanding of the Christian faith, and in his relationship with Jesus. I have observed that he is an active member within his local church, participating in different ministries - young people in particular. He has also availed himself of training in giving Bible studies, sharing the Gospel, and preaching - both here in Australia and overseas. Adaiah believes God could be calling him to full-time pastoral ministry, which I have no doubt he could be used mightily by God - if he remains faithful, teachable, and humble.
